What is a Cabin Air Filter?
Late-model vehicles are usually equipped with a Cabin Air Filter. The Cabin Air Filter is located in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system of your vehicle. It is designed to catch dust, pollen and other airborne material that can irritate allergies and other respiratory problems. It also helps to reduce odors inside the vehicle.
How Can I tell A Cabin Filter is Clogged?
A clogged or full cabin air filter can cause a restriction in the air movement of both the heating and air-conditioning system of your vehicle. It is generally recommended to have this cabin air filter replaced about once a year or every 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
Where is a Cabin Air Filter?
Most cabin air filters are located behind the glove box, under the dashboard or under the hood of the vehicle where fresh air enters the HVAC system. The cabin air filters are generally pretty easy to access and it is usually ½ hour to an hour of labor time charge and the price of the filter to have them replaced.
We recommend having them inspected and replaced on an annual basis to keep your cabin air clean and the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system in your vehicle working to its capacity. Happy motoring!
